conzertino
I just came across the youtube of an old concertina-friend and regular at the German concertina-meeting: concertina out of hell with Stephan Böhmer. Obviously we Germans don't have a lot of respect for those old traditional instruments;-) What do you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAHCo6gMiWQ 2
SIMON GABRIELOW
Oh dear! I don't like that at all! Poor thing [the concertina I mean!!!!]
Michael Eskin
Nice to see some innovation with the instrument even if it's not something I'd personally be interested in.

It's a 57key Aeola MacCann Duet. I cannot recall the number off the top of my head but it would be 100 years old or more. I got it from Alex West...... but like many concertinas I have had I do wonder why I sold it. Still, it is in good hands.

Do you know where Alex West got it from? He is a member here, maybe I can ask him. If Concertinas could talk....

I always wanted to ask you - how is it electrified? Is it a pickup, a microphone, a MIDI pickup? And do I guess correctly, that only a single side is electrified and the other is plain acoustic? Stefan
There are two small microphones under my palms, one left one right. They go into a guitar multi effect board that has two separate effect strings. So I can use different effects for the left and right side.

JimR
I have a CD made by Stefan. Unusual for concertina perhaps, but the music is familiar to this American's ears. Well done, Stefan.

Stefan
I'm glad that you like it, thank you Chris and Jim. But I am also aware that it's not everybody's taste and that's totally ok. Last night I played in a rock-club and it was very successful. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=7205430749482048&id=100000455832528&sfnsn=scwspmo

But I do wonder - how are there no feedback loop problems? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I simply love the electrified concertina sound since I first heard your recordings few years ago, and wanted to try this myself, but I have no real experience outside of acoustic and MIDI environments.
