Samantha
The avatar pictures are so tiny, but they are intriguing! Mine is a Russian ceramic figure of a clown playing a concertina (well ... it could be a concertina !) which I bought in Moscow a couple of years ago. He now hangs beside the fireplace in my living room. Samantha
Dave Weinstein
Mine is a superdeformed sketch of, well, me. --Dave
Helen
Hi Samantha, My avatar is a dog because whenever I go upstais my cocker spaniel automatically goes in the back bedroom and sits by the computer. I think I spend too much time on Concertina.net! Or maybe Taffy really likes it! Helen Cusick
bellowbelle
Mine is a crocheted sunflower, the sunflower being a favorite motif of mine. It's the end of a pillow, actually, and I'll attach a pic of the whole pillow to give an idea.
David Barnert
Mine is a sculpture (technically a "grotesque," not a "gargoyle") that is part of the Parliament building in Ottawa, Canada. Chris Timson
I did a search on the net for "concertina cartoons" and found this on a Japanese site. Tomato head playing an anglo seemed somehow appropriate for me... Chris
Howard Mitchell
My main instrument is the double bass. The cartoon is of someone playing a bass (ok it's a cello) with a saw rather than a bow. Richard Evans
Mine is a sculpture (technically a "grotesque," not a "gargoyle") that is part of the Parliament building in Ottawa, Canada. Dear David, I am new to this unbelievably complicated new deal but I would like to report that the photo that you have posted also adorns my workshop! It was given to me by my friend John Ramshaw who's brother spotted it when in Canada and photographed it. The weirdness of the concertina nut even reaches us here in Australia. My friend Michael Kluger (who is a psychiatrist) once mentioned that he thought all concertina players were a little suspect. He is one of the best players in the country! This is my first attempt at the new forum. Please be gentle with me! Yours Concerternally, Richard Evans

It was given to me by my friend John Ramshaw who's brother spotted it when in Canada and photographed it. Is it precisely the same photo? I did not take the photo. I don't remember who did. It was mentioned and made available on rec.music.makers.squeezebox some years ago. More recently, another photo of it was discussed on the previous concertina.net forum. Richard Morse
My avatar is also a grotesque, a photo taken by a friend during a sight-seeing tour of one of the Vanderbilt's mansions. Each window is adorned with a different grotesque. I had used the photo as a basis for last year's Squeeze-in graphic by cropping and adjusting parts. Here's a copy of the original photo. rabennett
Mine is an uilleann piper (bellows under the right arm, bag under the left arm, chanter resting on the right knee, drones across the lap) because various forms of bagpipe are my primary instrument. JackWoehr
Mine is an icon of myself I created in 1992 for the "About" box on a "button accordion" program called CORDINE I wrote for Windows.

d.elliott
Mine is the cut-away picture used on the front of my concertina repair book. If you look closely it shows my Aeola treble: key board, action and reed pan. I had a hell of a job glueing the concertina back together after the photo was taken; but thankfully it still works and you cannot find the join! Someone may report you to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Aeolas). WAIT! That knock on the door could be the Concertina Police!
