Hi Richard, here are some recordings of it (sorry for the mistakes, not used to the fingering). It is already tentatively sold; if that doesn't work out I'll post a video. Thanks for your interest. Janet tango sample.m4a midnight waltz sample.m4a gd, g row sample.m4a bonny lad.m4a morpeth rant.m4a

This is a lovely anglo, 30 button, G-D. I bought it from an individual who got it from the Button Box. It is in very good condition, has a sweet sound. The box is a Jeffries, as is the fingering. The bellows were replaced with Dipper bellows. The reeds were replaced with Wheatstone reeds. I'm just not using it. $4000, may consider trade for baritone C/G... or... Located in California, US.

update - I can see this price is higher than other instruments which also look like excellent quality. I'm lowering the asking price to $5000.

Hi Jody, I'm just not using it enough - wanted to have the lower range for harmonizing, and it's great for that, but so much of that repertoire (mine, anyhow) is in flat keys - so it's harder instead of natural. Also - I could use some of the $$ back... It's pretty great, I hope to find someone who will really enjoy it. J

The bellows were replaced with Dipper bellows. The reeds were replaced with Wheatstone reeds. I usually play a c-g, and although I love the tone of this and the lower pitch, I seem to only be able to "grok" one of them at a time. I'm in California; asking $5000, although I paid quite a bit more for it (I was smitten)! Thank you, Janet (Not sure if I can figure out how to post sound files, but I'd be glad to send some individually if that would be helpful to anyone) ("again" in the title is because I listed it a while ago, then played it a bunch and wasn't ready to let it go. This time I'm ready!)

(reposting this from General concertina discussion forum - I should have put it here...) This festival is held every year in Port Townsend, WA, and brings tradition-bearers from all over the US, and beyond, for a week of workshops, band labs, tutorials, jamming, etc. It's a great festival, including for non-fiddlers. This year, the band RéVeillons from Quebec will be on staff, including David Berthiaume on English concertina. There will also be a concertina tutorial, tutor is Janet Dows on anglo. (Tutorials can emphasize repertoire or technique, depending on who attends.) http://centrum.org/f...s-the-workshop/

Bellingham, Washington June 30 - Band With Concertina
Janet Dows replied to Janet Dows's topic in Public News & Announcements
Well, that sounds fun! We could have had a reed-fest along with the beer and the garden. Next time. And thank you, I think it will be a blast! -
Hi, Thursday June 30th in the Beer Garden at Boundary Bay, Bellingham, WA from 8:30-11 pm - casual music with 2 bands. One is the local Rattletrap Ruckus, http://rattletrapruckus.com, with wonderful button accordion player Lucas Hicks, the other is Seabright Serenaders from Santa Cruz, California, trio with mandolin/fiddle, guitar and anglo concertina. We'll play a wide variety, Italian, New Mexican, Southern Arizonan, various European and American tunes.

Hi, Thank you for your (very nice!) comments. I have noticed that the fiddle-concertina combination does have a tendency to blend into one sound, it's fun to play with that. Now that I'm mostly playing the Carroll concertina, the 2 instruments are a bit more distinct. On my old Lachenal, sometimes it was really hard to tell what was what. I really enjoy searching for the blend while playing with others.
