Bob Tedrow Posted November 8, 2014 Author Share Posted November 8, 2014 First of all, there is no better concertina available for the price of a stock Rochelle. Elise or Jackie. They are well designed and work. I only make these mods......because I can do so. The larger air button is less wheezy. For the beginner, the larger aperture allows you a bigger passage of air in out as needed. Not such an issue for the experienced player.....but they are not the parties purchasing modestly priced concertinas. I like the feel of sturdier handstraps. As all concertinas will likely require disassembly at some point,wood screws with larger pilot holes and waxed threads may help wear and tear on the wood of the bellows frame.
