  1. I have a C/G Anglo Suttner concertina for sale. It is in excellent condition with 31 keys, 7 bellow folds and ebony ends. Jeffries layout. Please PM for more details. Thanks!
  2. My husband and I are interested in selling his grandfather's MacCann Duet. This C. Wheatstone ebony Aeola has 56 buttons, and ivory thumb rests. Metal rivet tags are also still in great condition. The piece was manufactured in London and was first sold December 22nd, 1922 according to the ledger on this link http://www.horniman.info/DKNSARC/SD01/PAGES/D1P1820S.HTM. The instrument also comes with it's original hard leather case. This instrument is playable out of the box but could use some TLC as some of the reeds seem to stick. Reasonable offers will be considered, but we are hoping around $2500. We are located in Maryland, USA, near Baltimore. I'd be willing to ship to any USA location with insurance. Outside the US would require more research. Thank You! Bryanna

Morse Beaumont (Hayden Duet) 52 Button

Hello Everyone, After several years of being rarely played, I have made the difficult decision to sell my concertina. I dislike being a quitter, but I play too many other instruments to give this beautiful instrument the time it deserves. I am the original owner of #1082. It was manufactured in the spring of 2013, and has probably been played less than 60 hours since then. Still very much in excellent condition. I hope I'm not being unreasonable looking for $3000 US or approximately $3800 CAD. Original price was $3850 US. I am located in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. A 2.5 hour drive from border crossings at Detroit or Buffalo. Anyone is welcome to come play it. http://www.buttonbox.com/morse-beaumont.html- The button box website has excellent sound samples and pictures. I have never posted before, but I have enjoyed the discussions a lot. It was the postings on Concertina.Net that informed me enough to be confident in purchasing this concertina. Sincerely, James Fraser
  4. Reposting this as I am still looking to sell a Jeffries concertina as above. In C/G with 26 keys, making it a lighter instrument. It's also very loud. The accidentals are C#/ Eb A/G Ab/Bb on the Left hand and Eb/C# Ab/G C#/Bb on the Right. metal ends original bone keys. Assessed by a knowledgeable friend as in good working order. Looking for around £3600 plus postage. Please see pictures as attached and feel free to ask any more questions, many thanks Jo, Sheffield UK
  5. Unique Wheatstone Aeola 48 button Pre-WWI English Concertina in the Key of C Treble range (from G below middle C, to C three octaves above middle C). Falling within the "dear years" and "lost years" period of the Wheatstone company, this Ebony ended concertina has unique fretwork detail, and has a full rich tone. The instrument shows only very minor cosmetic blemishes and is in superior playing condition. The bellows are in excellent shape and all buttons are responsive. Concertina was completely looked over and serviced by the Button Box in 2013. Instrument was part of the collection at Barleycorn Concertinas until 2010, at which time it was imported to the United States. For a demo of the instrument, see the following YouTube video: https://youtu.be/DgymVJ-buSo Available for Skype calls for interested parties. $3600

It's also very loud making this an excellent choice for a morris musician. The accidentals are C#/ Eb A/G Ab/Bb on the Left hand and Eb/C# Ab/G C#/Bb on the Right. Assessed by a knowledgeable friend as in good working order. Looking for around £3600 Please see pictures as attached and feel free to ask any more questions, many thanks Jo, Sheffield UK

    Morse Albion Treble Concertina

Greetings, I have a Morse Albion Treble Concertina s/n 383 which I would like to sell. I understand that you folks are upright and honest people so what would it be worth. It cost in excess of £1400 new. Its like new and hardly played as my wife developed Arthritis and finds it painful. Its got a hardcase and a gig bag. Advice is welcome but, a decent offer would be magic. Dave
  8. The instrument pictured here is: Antique Concertina with makers mark on one end: C.Jeffries Maker 38 notes/basses Patterned fillagree metal on both ends with the hand rest and leather. All in good condition. No damage to the internal reeds. In really good condition for its age ... i do not know how to play it personally, but the notes work and it sounds really lovely (I would so love to hear someone play this little beauty properly)... it only shows some wear to the outer edges of the external leather on two corners, probably due to sitting. I am not exactly sure... but I think the key may be C/F (i play many musical instruments, including a piano accordion, but never did learn the concertina) Approx size: 150mm or 6 inches tall when closed completely. Leather case still in good condition Unfortunately the leather hinge attaching the lid to the bottom part of the case has come away ... in fact - it happened since I took the photos (which shows it still joined) ... The lid is still sitting perfectly on top of the case and I do not imagine it would be hard to fix... more photos can be supplied... Lining showing some wear. Approx size 190mm or 7 1/2 inches tall and approx 200mm or 8 inches in diameter or width. Our family owned a music shop in the 1950's in Perth, and this instrument was one of many lovely old instruments that came to us through trade ins etc. We used to keep them on display in the shop and then when my parents retired, the instruments were stored. We have researched this instrument and understand that it is the best and most sought after.. our asking price is £5,000 GBP ( which works out to approx. $8,100 AUD or $6,255 USD) Our location is Perth, Western Australia, and any Postage/Shipping/Insurance costs will have to be calculated and added to the purchase price for the purchaser to pay. Anyone interested can either respond here or you are welcome to email me on artist@anthea-m.com if you prefer. Also - I had so many pictures, and the allowance here was nowhere near big enough... I have done a collage - again, anyone interested only has to ask and I will send the full size pics to their email, no problems at all :-)

  10. I'm having to liberate some cash in order to, what else, buy another concertina. So, selling my 30b (plus D drone) Suttner A2 C/G anglo concertina. It's #281 and has recently been cleaned and examined by Greg Jowaisas. Very responsive and a great session instrument. Has a D drone. That's right, D. Otherwise, Jeffries tuning. Listing it here for $4,500 (plus shipping) and will donate $90 to concertina.net upon sale. Comes with case. I live in Southern California, so would prefer to sell to someone in the states. I'm unfamiliar with rules or taxes for shipping abroad, but would consider it. Photos attached here. -Chris Stuart

  15. For Sale: Wheatstone Aeola 48 button English Concertina. Serial #24873, Key of C. I purchased this Concertina from Barleycorn Concertinas in England, and recently (2013) had it serviced at The Button Box in Massachusetts. Falling within the dear and lost years periods of the Wheatstone company, this Ebony ended concertina has unique fretwork, and is in perfect playing condition. All buttons play clearly and in perfect pitch. I am located in the Western United States. I have never used this forum before, but am aware of the 2% donation policy. I am located in Montana but will be traveling to Southern California next week and can bring the instrument with me. Please see four detailed pictures below:
  16. Hey folks. Up for sale is my basically brand new Jackie concertina. There are NO marks, scratches, dents, or damage of any kind as far as I can tell. Whenver I played it I was always gentle, and whenever I was finished it was placed back into it's gig bag. Also included is the book that came with it on how to play. The book DOES have some wear and tear, but is still completely readable/usable. here is my craigslist link: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/msg/5218745213.html I am still very much a beginner on the instrument and would love to keep improving, but I've fallen on some hard times and I am forced to sell some of my favorite things, including my musical instruments. I purchased this concertina for about $420 shipped, so I'd love to see it go for $400, mainly because that would keep me going for another week, but I know that's asking a lot considering it is technically a used concertina. If possible, I'd prefer it to be someone local so I don't have to ship it, but I will if I have no other choice. Thank you everyone.
  17. Hi All I am a newbie to Concertina.net and I have been playing for two years now. I have learned on an Anglo Stagi and have acquired a vintage 48 key Wheatstone. I could adapt to the Wheatstone fingering but I'd prefer to sell or exchange for an upgrade to an Anglo 30 key of similar quality. Please advise me as I need your expertise. Long live the music and this forum.
  18. I have a beautiful and virtually un-used Frank Edgley "Professional" Model Concertina for sale: # 511. This was built for me last Fall (2014) after a month long trip that I made to Ireland. I thought that I would take up the concertina, but my guitar keeps calling me..... This is a beautiful Eucalyptus burl wood concertina with rosewood trim. It also has ebony handles with Eucalyptus capping and Bright Stainless, Tree of Life patterned ends, C/G Wheatstone layout model, 30 buttons, 7 bellow folds, slanted reed pans and more. Concertina also comes with custom built Frank Edgley case for the superior protection of this beauty. I will accept PayPal for payment I haven't learned to play this instrument. As stated it is virtually Brand new. In addition, I will include: · The Anglo Concertina, Absolute Beginners Tutorial, by Chris Sherburn and Dave Mallinson · Bertram Levy’s “Anglo Concertina Demystified" book with 2 CDs · Frank Edgley’s “How to Play the Anglo Concertina” DVD . 19. I am selling my Kensington anglo concertina. It is Numer 048 which I got from David Levine who purchased it from Dana Johnson in March, 2012. It is in perfect, like new condition. For Sale 40B Tedrow Anglo

Hi C-net, I'm crossposting this notice I just put up on eBay for my Tedrow 40-button G/D Anglo hybrid, with Wheatstone layout. Please let me know if anyone has any questions about it---I can respond here or over at eBay. Thank you! Steven http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tedrow-40-button-G-D-Hybrid-Anglo-Concertina-/231357838884? Here's a little video of me playing it. (Also posted on the eBay listing.)
  23. This is a stock C/G Stagi W-15 LN that was "Turboed" by Bob Tedrow of Homewood Music. He put brass bushings and brass buttons on the stock concertina as the plastic ones were prone to stick. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember reading that he did something to make the action work smoother also. I never played a stock Stagi, so I have nothing to compare it to. I sent it to the Button Box to refurbish the bellows at which time they put leather patches where needed (see pictures and video). Takes 10 full seconds to expand from fully compressed with no buttons pressed. The screen between the grill and the reeds on the right hand side is pushed in a little, but does not affect the sound or function of the concertina. I've played it for 8 years and have upgraded to an Edgley Professional (love it, by the way!) This is a great beginner/intermediate instrument for a good price. New W-15 LN goes for $900 at the Button Box. I'm asking $500 or best offer before I put it on eBay. See pics and YouTube video HERE A few tunes HERE
