JimLucas Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Hobgoblin have a lachenal duet for £695 that is looking tempting...<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't see that one. I do see one for £680, but it's a Maccann with only 40 buttons. Definitely not worth it, IMO, unless you intend to play it in an Irish anglo style.
otsaku Posted March 30, 2005 Author Posted March 30, 2005 It is one of the secondhand special offers on one of the shop pages if I remember rightly. The one I'm leaning toward is the lachenal 20 key anglo in wadebridge, wooden ends, steels reeds, 5 fold bellows, concert pitch £225. Though after hearing the brass reeds today I think I've fallen in love. I liked the sound of the jackie and still do but its a real fog horn compared to the lachenal. My neighbours are going to love me once the lachenal is playable.
Stephen Chambers Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Thankgod I have no money <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Neither have I, but that doesn't stop me !
otsaku Posted March 30, 2005 Author Posted March 30, 2005 I'm lucky I have an understanding wife. She understands that a swift blow to the head stops me from pressing the pay now button. A new wee one on the way is going to hamper my spending power so I have to buy buy buy now now now...

Stephen Chambers Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 It started as a buynow at £299, then went down to £249, then £219 and ended at £199. I was pretty sure it would be re-listed and here it is at £185. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see that the description is now "Revised" and that the Buy it Now has dropped to £169.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> And today it's down to £159. Going, going ... down ! This really is turning into a Dutch auction. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And today £149.00 ! Any takers on this 1860's Louis Lachenal, looking for a good home ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Today's price £139.00 !
otsaku Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 And not yet relisted... Maybe I should up my offer to £80 for both of them
bigsqueezergeezer Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Thanks for the tip, I must get married ! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stephen If ever you get the urge, take my advice and cut to the chase. Just find a woman you don't like, and buy her a house! Derek
Alan Day Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Sorry lads but when it reaches a tenner I`m coming in. It must be getting near to the price now Derek that it would be useful just to pump the water out of your boat? Al
bigsqueezergeezer Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 The way my boat leaks (in the top only, thank goodness), I need a melodeon at least! Derek
