larryjhs
Can anyone advise me how to get a copy/scan (saves on postage) to Land of Oz - The Anglo-Concertina Music of William Kimber by Dan Worrall? It’s out of print/ unavailable. Is Dan in this list? I am not sure. As some people know, Kimber’s harmonies are remarkable, but for a neophyte like me, I find them easy. Some of Worrall’s pages are on line (but not all ). and English Country Garden is in one or two of Coover’s great books which I basically learn from 99% of the time. Dan Worral The web site url listed on his member page (linked above) seems to have been hijacked by people selling T-shirts.

Daniel Hersh
If you can't get it from Dan, it looks like Button Box may have it in stock: https://www.buttonbox.com/reference-books.html , as does Red Cow Music in the UK at https://redcowmusic.co.uk/dev/product/anglo-concertina-music-william-kimber/ (but I don't have any experience dealing with Red Cow) and also the EFDSS Folk Shop at https://uk.patronbase.com/_EFDSS/Store/Item?id=47 . And you can download it free at https://web.archive.org/web/20160507183128/http://angloconcertina.org/files/Kimber_for_website.pdf . Dan took down his site in 2016 as per https://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?/topic/18916-shutting-down-my-website/ but it's all archived at the Internet Archive according to that same thread. Dan Worrall
Yes, I check in occasionally, and responded to Larry's note. I donated the Kimber book from its beginning (2005) to the English Folk Dance and Song Society (London), who publish and sell it. As someone mentioned, The Button Box carries it. The version that I uploaded on my former website included the text but only a very few tunes. For Anglo players, might I mention the House Dance CDRom, available for cheap download at The Concertina Journal website? It is without competition in being a repository of 200 recordings of the very earliest recorded Anglo players from England, Ireland, South Africa and Australia. We sell it to help fund the (free) online Concertina Journal website. The text, telling the history of the Anglo's ubiquitous use in playing for house dances in the late nineteenth century, is available free on the Journal website, but the 200 recordings require a $10 donation. I mention this because I keep meeting concertina players who are neither familiar with the new online Concertina Journal or with this tune collection. Here is The Concertina Journal: http://www.concertinajournal.org Here is the text version of House Dance, with instructions on downloading the music: http://www.concertinajournal.org/House_Dance_Text/ Cheers, Dan
