Digital concertina

Recommended Posts

Just looking at the spec for the brand new Roland fr-18 digital button box. Looks a great idea.

3 rows and you can configure it to any keyboard layout you fancy.

How long before we get a digital concertina - 4 rows and you can configure it however you want. Design your own keyboard.

Anyone fancy the idea?

Hi Geoff

Is it anything like Mike Eykins app for IPhone? Any link to a web site?

Interesting indeed! I thought Wakker made a similar midi concertina instrument? There is not enough demand for concertinas for Roland to bother with it, through.

Well this looks very cool. Roland has made a name for itself for creative instrument modeling in interesting packages. Ever try a Handsonic?

That Roland . . . I think I'm in love. If only I had a first-born child to sell to get one!

However, one minor drawback -- like a solid-body electric guitar, it appears to need an amp to make itself heard. I'd really like one that sounded like an ordinary 3-row diatonic when not plugged in, and then had a cable-plug-activated interface that brought the whole thing to digital life when possible.

Still, there must be a small, poorly guarded neighborhood bank around here somewhere.

Sigh.

Hasn't Roy Whitely already pretty much done this??
