  1. Need to sell this fairly quickly. My student aid package for this year ended up being considerably less than was estimated thanks to the superior budgetary skills of the New York State Legislature and now I have to find a way to fill in the gaps for the time being. Concertina plays great, sounds great, and comes with a really nice custom case. I am the second owner. If anyone wants to meet up on Skype I'd be happy to give a little demo so you can hear what she sounds like. Also if anyone wants to see higher resolution pictures just PM me with your email. Asking $1650 o.b.o. plus actual shipping (I can ship any carrier you like). Happy to ship internationally. Paypal, check, or money-order. I will make the appropriate donation to C.net upon sale. If interested shoot me a PM.
  2. Well, my papers weren't that great, but I got a little better at concertina!
  3. My wonderful 2003 Tedrow is keeping me from working on 4 research papers due in 3 days. Any remedies? Or am I doomed to late night scrambling?
  4. Somebody adapt the Castlevania theme!
  5. I've done a little bit of guitar building, and if you properly true the edges of bookmatched pieces of wood and are able to glue it evenly, it'll be tough as nails in terms of handling cuts across the joint. Wood glue is one crazy piece of chemistry!
  6. Who needs Uilleann pipes when you have an iPhone?
  7. I'll be receiving an early 2000's Tedrow this week. I've only played a Morse Ceili before, but I'll give you my impressions if you're interested. Even though I'm not super versed in a broad range of instrument makes, I'm pretty honest when it comes to analyzing what I do and don't like. Maybe one day I'll be able to get my hands on that "holy grail" of an instrument...it seems my guitar lust has mutated into concertina lust as of late...
  8. I'm surprised so many people have had negative experiences with offering advice about playing. Maybe it's because I live in a bit of a folk/trad music vacuum, but one of the reasons I was always attracted to traditional music is precisely the fact that so many people are willing to share just for the joy of spreading the music around. Too many grumpy people. It's music, for crying out loud.
  9. Purchased this about 2 months ago from Button Box as a used piece for $1650 with the case. Tried to sell it on eBay recently but didn't get any bites, and I've decided that I'd rather give my hard earned money to this community than the corporate monsters over at eBay. I originally purchased this with the intent of supplementing my fiddling, but diapers and formula are really expensive, and I can't sell my violin because it's a family heirloom and my parents would skin me alive. I'm hoping to get $1600 shipped for this, but I'm really strapped for cash at the moment and will entertain reasonable offers. It does have a bit of finish wear; that's how it came when I got it and everything is cosmetic. I think it gives it a nice character to it, but I understand that that doesn't apply to everyone's tastes. The concertina plays absolutely wonderfully, is very smooth and mellow, and has excellent response. If you have any questions feel free to email me at rayce.malone@gmail.com, or I can provide a personal phone number as well via PM to any interested party, seeing as I don't really have any credentials on this forum. I've been selling on eBay for about five years now, so I'm pretty well versed in getting things done quickly and smoothly. I have several more pictures if any one would like me to email them, just send me a PM and I'll get them to you as fast as I can.
