  12. "Interesting" is a good word for it! I find the placement of the rhythmical stresses very awkward. The A part is 4 bars & the B part is 8 bars. So ... I've doubled the length of all the notes and inserted extra bar lines to give a tune with A = 8 bars & B = 16 bars. Now it doesn't look so intimidating. I didn't want to be struggling with Eb either so I transposed it to G. 13. Thank you, Takayuki YAGI, that’s it. It’s strange, how you can look for something for ages & ages and not find it, yet someone else goes straight to it! I was searching again tonight and straight away I found two scores at Musescore.com ~ thats the strange way the web world works. Jake
  14. I'm always on the look out for new/different tunes and here's one called simply "Banks" that intrigues me. It was collected in Durham by Alan Dyer, editor of The International Concertina Association magazine, and published in edition No. 339, 1986, P.12. I can find no other references to it since then and I wondered if anyone here has come across it. For my own use I've transpose it into G & made some other small changes but here it is as published. .... Banks in Eb.pdf and the abc. .. 16. Well, the box they are in has a label inside the lid marked :- TONI & TINA, 140 Findon St, Sheffield. A quick Google takes us to The Concertina Museum and a selection of photos of the duo with some of their instruments. Also, From 'Papers of The International Concertina Association; Vol 9, 2012' here; http://www.concertina.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/PICA09-2012.pdf An article titled ' Miniature and Semi-Miniature Concertinas' has the following information "Toni & Tina" (sometimes bill as "Tina and Nita") was the musical variety act of Edward and "Tina" Potts, who performed on miniature, small,7 8 and regular-size English and Maccann duet concertinas, as well as on the xylophone. They previously performed in "The Concercordions and Nita," a concertina-accordion-xylophone act led by Edward's father, concertinist G. W. Potts (see Fig.A2.7).7<? Some of the concertinas have the name plate G.W.POTTS on them, which of course must be his father. Jake

  20. It seems to me that whereas the ARIETTA was designed to be played by one person this has to be played by two. Also, the spinet side has a flap to fold over the keyboard, the top folds down and then! the two parts fold together ( are those hinges I can see on the centre join? ) you tuck it under your arm and of you go to your next gig! Jake
  21. I don't know where the smiley came from! It appeared when i first posted to this thread & I had to go back to the message and edit it out. Jake
  22. Yes, of course. The more musicians we reach the better. Playing tunes may not stop any bullets but it can show support & solidarity for a beleaguered nation. Jake
  23. Good work. It was my intention to transcribe this and take it to an easy session that I run BUT you've beaten me to it.
