Daniel Bradbury
And to think, I lived in Bakersfield for years. Now I'm on the other side of the country. I would love to hear Basque music on the Accordion. Is there a tradition of button accordion in Basque music? While I was in Bakersfield, I was listening to Norteno music and looking for a Mexican Box Teacher. Best of Luck with the festival, wish I could be there. JimLucas
Is there a tradition of button accordion in Basque music? You better believe it! Try searching the net for "Trikitixa".
Ken_Coles
Not only great music, but the Basques know how to put on a great festival! There was a large Basque community in Nevada where I used to do field work as a geologist in the 1980s. Great time.
JoachimDelp
Bravo Jim ! Or ask me ! Accordeon is taught in San Sebastin in the Conservatorio de Musica and there are excellent Players. There used to be World Champions, but even now there are young players succesful in International Competitions. More popular is the Trikitxa, the Basque Melodeon and they know to handle it. And as Ken says, we know to celbrate fiests. Kind regards
JimLucas
And as Ken says, we know to celbrate fiests. Yep. I have personal experience with that... and not in Nevada, thanks to Joachim. :)
