Guest Peter Laban
RTE radio just broadcast a programme on the concertina in their 'Instrumentals' series produced by Aoife nic Cormaic. The show featured the voices and music of Noel Hill and Kitty Hayes (and I joined Kitty towards the end of the program playing the Coalminer's reel) painting a lovely audio picture around the story of the Irish concertina. Alan Day
Peter I tried to get this recording and instead got one on the wooden flute. Lovely music but not what you intended me to hear. Al
Guest Peter Laban
I went by what they said at the end of the program, just had a look at the page: http://www.rte.ie/radio1/story/1068840.html which lists all episodes of the program. The concertina one wasn't on it yet but I am sure they'll add it on as soon as possible, the country should start waking up on monday. It's program 7 you want. Edit: actually make that tuesday, just drove into town to go to the postoffice and found the Ireland still deserted in bankholiday monday mode. Jim Stetson
The December 18 program also has something novel: Mick Kinsella plays concertina and harmonica together--sounds nice! Kinsella can make the harmonica do just about anything. http://www.rte.ie/radio1/instrumentals/ram...18december.smil
