Cathasach Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 I hang out with a lot of circus folks and I've been playing along while they juggle recently and I was hoping for some time suggestions. I've mostly been playing Bitches Full of Stitches. Anything peppy and simple is perfect.
David Barnert Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 Entry of the Gladiators is typical but not simple.
RAc Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 (edited) probably any jig, reel or hornpipe from the standard repertoire will do. Have you checked with the Paul Hardy tunebook? Lots of very accessible simple but catchy tunes in there. Edited June 1, 2024 by RAc 1
SqueezyC Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Take a look at “Director’s Chair” in the Pete Mac Tunebook on Paul Hardy’s website. It has a wonderful fairground/circus feel. Also perhaps some of Bryon Bonnett’s tunes. 1
Jim Besser Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 You might want to talk to Randy stein of this forum. Randy was a concertina-playing circus performer back in the day. 1
