Brian Begineer
Hi, I am a beginner looking to buy a concertina. I'm open minded about type Anglo or English (is English more intuitive?) I hope to learn, Irish, Scottish, English, American folk tunes and hyms. I live in Glasgow, Scotland. For my first beginners concertina my budget is 500 GBP. Please get in touch if you have any suggestions
seanc
You will probably need to narrow down Anglo, English or duet before you can get any sort of buying suggestions. all systems have their strengths and draw backs.concertina connections are a very good starting point for any one of these. Alex West
Brian In normal times, you'd be welcome to come and visit and try out an anglo (and I know a number of English players near here as well) but I fear that's not on at the moment. Send me a PM if you want to tell me exactly where you are and maybe I can give you some suggestions (I'm in N Ayrshire). I'm sure others will chip in with suggestions around your price range Alex West
Wolf Molkentin
Hi Brian, I‘m chiefly an English player (and would recommend this type - 48b treble being the standard to start with), but I would easily admit that the Anglo is the more intuitive instrument...
