Breton Songs

Nanette,

Try this link and scroll down to find great stuff!

Especially in the sections "En Dro", "Gavottes" and "Hanter Dro" you will find some great Breton tunes.

One of my favorites is "Gavotte des montagnes toñ tripl". It is a nice example of the specific structure of this kind of music: a rather simple A part and a much longer and more complicated B part.

Have fun!

Looks like some good music.

Very strange! None of the MIDI files on this site produces any sound for me in RealPlayer, though RP indicates that they're playing. But I can hear them just fine if I use Windows Media Player. Plenty of other MIDI files sound just fine in both applications. Anybody have an idea what the cause could be? :(

Jim,

There are lots of extra commands in MIDI beyond the basic patterns of notes to be played, although most aren't used in PC files. Perhaps one of these extras is causing REAL to fail. You'd need MIDI analyser software to find out what extras have been added.
