Randall Cayford
(after removing the finger "rests"--using my knee as a brace rather than a just support...but it's allowing me to finally enjoy happines.... Why did you remove the finger rests instead of just ignoring them? Did you find them in the way when using your pinkies?
catty
Yes, I did. Sometimes, my pinkies would be up on the edge of the metal bracket...other times in the bracket as proper, I suppose...but I would tend to exert too much pressure on my pinkies inthis position. Eschewing the brackets entirely permits me much more hand movement without interference with the brackets, while the pinkies are still able to help stabilize the instrument.. saguaro_squeezer
Catty, I'm pretty smitten with my Crane duets but will admit that picking up the EC is still lots of fun ...even with the pinkie rests intact. Sets my Crane progress back every time, though. Then again, so do the melodeons and the bandoneon. Fun to take one tune and play it on a series of instruments. But I digress ....
