  1. you'd have to be sure you could catch it.
  2. It needs fixing, but it will work. I saw the programme on telly when they tried it out. Chris might be handy if you want to start a battle over the fence with a neighbour. lol!
  3. Fast...without a doubt. Hi LDT A fine tune done well! Pretty quick for me too. Thanks Leo For me now the proof of if I've really learnt it will be if it stays in my head when I learn another tune...or disappears from my memory.
  4. My friend is always saying to me I should learn a song by Evanescence (sort of a goth-punk band http://www.evanescence.com/) on my AC...I think that would be fun, but I have no idea where to start...or if it would fit.
  5. I've noticed since I started learning the concertina..my typing has improved. Anyone else had any positive side effects of learning to play?
  6. Thank you It took me 8 days of about 30min-hours practice to learn that up to that point. (is that slow or fast learning wise?)
  7. another one I've been working on http://www.soundlantern.com/UpdatedSoundPa...3&Path=null
  8. I usually practicing in my room but unfortunately I have to share it with my sister so if she's doing coursework I have to find somewhere else. The living room is the normal alternative but sometimes there's another person watching tv in there and in the dining room is where the pc is and thus my brother. I've tried practicing outside in the garden and found it too...noisy. With various neighbours deciding to suddenly start mowing their lawns. But for the most part I stick to my room. Although I've been practicing the same song for a couple of days now and on the same beat the door downstairs slams every time. lol!
  9. *ding ding* round two. (sorry couldn't resist)
  10. Hmmm, if you've modded yours for Irish, maybe I could do something similar for "Scotch"? But the thought of drinking 112 bottles of Glenmorangie is rather daunting... , never mind it would work out around 5,040 euro for a set of "papers"! Maybe I should get myself a hexagonal concertina... you could save your liver and just print out your own labels Actually that gives me idea.... a chocolate concertina....mmmmmmmm.
  11. cool. did you make all those?
  12. actually you can tell its photoshopped coz there is no shadow under the concertina and the lighting doesn't match... OK miss smarty pants, Maybe the lighting looks off due to the high speed at which the concertina is traveling away from the camera which would produce the Doppler effect slowing the light waves as it moves away and making it appear darker. Also how come the batter and catcher don't have shadows. Maybe they're vampires. Sorry I had to get all scientific on ya. How did you know my nickname? Nearly there though almost convinced me it was real. lol! The batter does have a shadow buts its light and stretched and the catcher's shadow is behind the bump in the ground I know next to nothing about concertina's but graphics is something I can comment on but no one asks me about ... Photoshopping is my job and hobby. but now I'm going way off topic...sorry. *reminds self not to be a graphics bore.*
  13. actually you can tell its photoshopped coz there is no shadow under the concertina and the lighting doesn't match... edit: sorry I'm a bit of a geek
  14. Cool, I gota get me one of them. Fjb Yeah, they're kinda neat. Sorta like device drivers in a computer. You think music, and the subroutine thinks banjo music, guitar music, anglo music. I got an addressing exception in my music processor once. Somebody handed me a guitar, and the guitar subroutine drove my left hand - but somehow the banjo subroutine got control of my right hand. Everybody laughed and said, "Hey you're playing banjo on that guitar!" The other way round would have been cacophony ... My Crane subroutine isn't even available as a beta version yet - but it'll be released real soon now! Cheers, John Tried it in other modes recorder, piano, guitar, bass guitar and it crashed. Mine is still in 'learn' mode for the concertina.
  15. I have one with a stomp box too also got a little morris guy and a guitar and a banjo all available in yellow on request
  16. There was one: . Now there are two. Hope they play in tune. I wonder what tune they are playing?
  17. I bet passers by wondered how the fern was making music.
  18. Thank you. I thought all the transport options available commercially were a bit..dull and wouldn't match my 'style'. And I love one-of-a-kind items.
  19. Mine is currently a photmanipulated image of my concertina and a hat I made....I was going through an 'Edwardian' stage when I made it (the hat that is). Had bought a book on Edwardian fashion.
  20. I forgot I'd said I'd post pics of the bag when it was completed so here it is. I did the patchwork and designed the bag my sister then put it together for me under instruction. It has a handles zips and padding. And can also double up as a stylish handbag.
  21. ah but I have the crew of HMS monstrous on my side http://www.geocities.com/hmsmonstrous_stories/ Acting lt Nerrissa Morgan of the HMS Monstrous reporting for duty, sir. (its RPG yahoo group where we take on various roles)
  22. Aye lass, that he was ! *sings* Who lives in a pineapple under the sea....
  23. well I have the Scarlatti from Hobgoblin no complaints at least nothing major that isn't just being penickety. But its not going to be the one I keep playing forever...I've been saving and am going to get a more expensive one. It was a bit buzzy at first but now its gone away with more playing. Still rather stiff though definitely feel like I've had a workout after an hours practice. lol!
  24. you mean they don't all look like Johnny Depp? there was a guy in Treasure Island who started off the hollywood version of pirate talk and its something to do with his death I think...it was on QI. was spongebob squarepants there? I think I will have to change my icon to something suitably pirate-ish
