  1. It is sold and on its way to Ireland island. Thanks.
  2. Jacqueline, it would appear that your father originally wanted a concertina in the key of F (Bb/F). It would be nice to know if this concertina was pitched in the standard key of C/G or Bb/F. I am sending you a P.M.
  3. The concertina is aesthetically pleasing although my preference would be for a gold plated Dickenson Wheatstone C/G or Wakker anglo with Amboyna wood veneer frames. The Marcus instrument would be excellent if it had traditional steel reeds.
  4. Hello Jacqueline, It is always good for family members or children of the deceased to attempt to learn play instruments bequeathed to them. In the event you really want to sell it ..please send me a P.M. (personal message) with your asking price.
  5. Hello, did it sell through ebay? I was away and have just checked the link but the auction seems to have ended. thanks. Hi ClareHanna, The concertina is still available. If you know of anyone who may be interested then let me know. Send me a P.M.
  6. Wheatstone C/G 30 button in excellent condition relisted for a "buy it now" sale. Here is the new link:http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250558569027&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT Here is an opportunity to buy a genuine, steel reeded instrument...for the price of an accordion reeded concertina.
  7. Hello Dave, The reeds are long scale steel reeds similar to the Wheatstone Aeola reeds of the 1950's, set in brass shoe frames. The reedpan is dovetailed. I am open to offers from C.net users. I will P.M. you my asking price.
  8. I have have a beautiful Koot Brits 40 button anglo on ebay (Serial number #55, made in 2009). I can provide photos on request. This instrument has genuine Wheatstone reeds with brass shoes. I would prefer to sell it on C.net and support this webiste. P.M. me if interested. If this concertina sells to a member of C.net I will make a donation to this website c/o Paul Schwartz.
  9. The Wheatstone Aeola is sold. I will send a contribution to C.net c/o Paul Schwartz once I receive the payment. Thanks.
  10. I understand that Wally Carroll is using reed shoes made from titanium. Does this metal influence the sound of the reeds or is it main feature being lighter in weight than brass shoes?
  11. I will be posting the photos that Paul took of this particular Wheatsone Aeola C/G.
  12. Hi Sean, Could you kindly post a picture or two of your concertina? Thanks.
  13. Greg, For the purposes of clarification...is the Wheatstone English one with brass reed frames/shoes or brass reeds? Good Luck with your sale.
  14. It is now sold. Sold on ebay. Thanks.
  15. There is another Tedrow concertina for sale on Ebay. It is not mine...but it looks stunning! http://cgi.ebay.ca/Concertina-Anglo-Made-by-Bob-Tedrow-31-Button-C-G_W0QQitemZ280422868106QQcmdZViewItemQQptZKeyboards_MIDI?hash=item414a81648aHere is the link"
  16. I have relisted the Tedrow Bb/F concertina. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Tedrow-Bb-F-Concertina_W0QQitemZ130343467573QQcmdZViewItemQQptZKeyboards_MIDI?hash=item1e59137a35
  17. Thanks Mikea, I did not know that it was a copyrighted word. I assumed that it was a word related to the octagonal shape. Paul Schwartz was kind enough to help me delete the word "Aeola".
  18. The case is indeed Greg Jowaisas' handiwork. It is luxuriously padded and blocked in a very sturdy box. The concertina fits snugly in the case. The extra compartment allows you to store CD's, keys etc. I have at least four cases from Greg and the prices range from just over $140.00 to $240.00 depending on the size and extra features you want to add. He even builds double cases so that you can carry two concertinas around to sessions. In the event you need a custom made case...you can PM Greg Jowaisas on this forum in the "members" search at the top right hand of the screen. His personal email address is: gjowaisas@insightbb.com.
  19. The Wheatstone's C/G Aeolas from the 1950's and 1960's are desireable. I have two of them myself. My thoughts: 1) I think that the seller started the auction with a price that is a bit too high to attract initial bidders; 2) The seller did not make an attempt to answer questions posed to him; 3) the seller did not "sell" the concertina properly or adequately. Sometimes it is the "sizzle" that sells the steak.
  20. When? Where? Can you provide URLs? I just did a search on eBay, and it didn't return anything fitting that description. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT This will lead you to the other one and the Lachenal. I'm suspecting 50s given the 8 folds (S. African?). I've asked the question. He doesn't seem to be answering questions. The Wheatstone did not sell.
  21. Paul Read has a Wheatstone 30 button C/G for sale in that price range. It is wooden ended. You can PM him on C.net if you are looking for a Wheaststone anglo.
  22. I want to second the motion to recommend the services of Greg Jowaisas. I have already bought four of Greg's custom made cases and I am ordering another one soon. Greg is a top-notch craftsman, concertina tuner and a true gentleman. Attached is a photo of Greg holding up one of Wally Carroll's brand new concertinas.
