Robin Harrison
I was somewhat astonished to learn that Bert Jansch played an English concertina. I was a huge fan of theirs and saw them live twice in the early 70's. I had not discovered concertina then: I was a late teenager. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysFKjWG_W54 https://mainlynorfolk.info/folk/records/pentangle.html#cruelsister Anyone else out there who was a fan and didn't know he played ? Stig Bubblecard
I also saw Pentangle at Newcastle City Hall on more than one occasion and once in the (then) University Theatre in the Haymarket as a solo performer. Not once did I spot a concertina! Dave
Hereward
I've certainly never heard a better version of Lord Franklin.
LateToTheGame
I heard that song sung by them for so many years before I was aware what a concertina was. I thought the backing was some sort of organ of some kind. It is unmistakable now...
Jim Besser
Anyone else out there who was a fan and didn't know he played ? Me. I was one of countless young people who slavishly learned his version of Angie on guitar.
