nkgibbs
Dear C.netters, What is your verdict on this 'Jeffries' on eBay at the moment? Seems to be a real 'hybrid' with typical Lachenal hand rail stamps? Regards Neil
Takayuki YAGI
My guess is Lachenal, with fake Jeffries stamp or Jeffries end plates because of the hooked action you can see in the 11th photo. nkgibbs
Well spotted Taka! The C. Jeffries lettering also doesn't look 'right'. Regards, Neil

Patrick McMahon
It's not a surprising price for a metal ended Lachenal. Although I would want to play it and look inside for that sort of money. I doubt that the buyer thought they were getting a real Jeffries though. I asked a question of the seller, I asked what the measurement was across the flats of the ends, and they replied six and a quarter inches, which I think rules out Jeffries and confirms it as a Lachenal. The metal ends are the real mystery. They are definitely Jeffries pattern, but should be six inches, not six and a quarter. I looks like someone had them specially made, which is odd, considering that no effort was made other than the ends to disguise it's true maker. Collectauke
Just measured my 26+1 Jeffries Anglo d/g and its six and two sixteenths....it's a combination of weird parts to be sure.....hope it plays better than my lachenal which I am not impressed with at all.......I know the seller was sent a message referring to this topic and I was told that they did not get any reply.....worrying to say the least.....anyway not my problem...have a nice day Patrick!
