Hereward
If it isn't a Wheatstone then someone screwed on that plaque with intent to defraud (or at least impress people perhaps). Ian
Rod
It is here on ebay, what is it? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nice-Old-Rosewood-Co...p3286.m63.l1177 Someone has failed to come to terms with the thumb straps and pinkie rests, removed them and made a pigs ear of attaching a sort of Anglo strap in such a position that it would clearly be impossible to access the buttons satisfactorily. At that stage they kicked the instrument into touch and transferred their remarkable talents elsewhere.
Marien
Not that I think this is a wannahave instrument. But there are some signs of english make (the position of the pads and the buttons) however, the sides are one piece. Does anyone recognise this kind of fretwork? PeteP
Have a look at these photographs on danny Chapman's site. Exactly the same construction and label. http://www.rowlhouse.co.uk/concertina/whea...ne98/index.html
