Jon C. Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Hi, I am constructing a tuning bellow. I have made the bellow, but still have to make the top and bottom. Do I need to put a valve in, or will it just vent through the reed? Thanks, Jon
Bill Crossland Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 A valve will make the venting a lot quicker and easier!
Jon C. Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 A valve will make the venting a lot quicker and easier! Where should it be located? I would think it would be on the bottom, but it would have gravity working against it..

I would think it would be on the bottom, but it would have gravity working against it.. I wouldn't think it would have to be a long tongue. I was thinking of a valve fastened on the side rather than the end.....
Henrik Müller Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 A valve will make the venting a lot quicker and easier! That's the trouble with today's thinking - everything has been so darned fast /Henrik
Bill Crossland Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I mount mine on the top - see attached picture
Jon C. Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 I mount mine on the top - see attached picture Thanks, that makes more sense. I couldn't see it in the other photos. Jon
