Frank Edgley
After over 200 concertinas made, I have received my share of positive e-mails. The message I received from a customer, a little while ago, was very gratifying. As many of you know, concertina making is more about the love of the instrument, and the challenge producing the best instrument I can, than it is about making money. So I have copied this e-mail and pasted it here. "Frank, Your concertina arrived today. I must have checked her progress around the country a hundred times. Loved the case, didn't realize it was made like that. Please tell your friend I appreciate the compactness of his design and the latching system. The case matches the instrument in terms of perfection. Now Frank, I just have to tell you that I took a huge chance judging the sweetness of your Edgley's by listening to numerous sound files over the net. But, as I play my first C scale and then G, the words sweet and pure come to mind. The sound of the instrument IS exactly as I thought it would be. I am so glad I jumped to this instead of fooling around with 2 or 3 instruments that always lack. The action is excellent. I can't find any flaws in the workmanship. I just wanted you to know I believe it was worth every penny I paid. Even though I sort of busted my bank account, I got the sound I was searching for. Now all I have to do is do the necessary work to get my technique down. And, now, I understand what a bugger this must be to tune. So many notes! They all sound perfect to me. I can tell after thirty minutes of practice that this anglo will be singing a sweet, sweet song very soon. Let me know if you need me to talk with any future customers about the value of an Edgley. Just amazing. I wish I could build these and send them out into the world. I once built a guitar when I was in college. But, building a guitar is much simpler than this baby. It must give you a great sense of accomplishment knowing that you are building something so heaven like and placing it into people's hands. But, for right now, my next year will be spent bringing my "songs" what I hear in my head out into the world. Sorry, for the length of this, I could talk all day to you. I had the chance to speak with your wife for a minute when she picked up the phone. Please let her know how much people in the world care about your instruments. It is worth it. I bet at times it seems like a lot of hassle, but, man, the sweet sound, just incredible."

I know you make concertinas for a living, but some feedback from a happy customer or customers, in your case, makes the hours of work worthwhile. Craftsmanship rewarded.
