For Sale: Geuns-wakker 30b C/g Anglo

Because I would like to upgrade, I'll have to sell my amboyna ended Geuns-Wakker C/G. It is in good playing condition (5-6 years old).

More information can be found at this page. I have set up the page late yesterday evening, so some details might be missing. The soundfiles were made in a hurry, but are good enough to demostrate the sound of this instrument.

As far as I know it is in Jeffries lay-out, but there might be small deviations. On one of the sound files I play the complete accidental row, so comments are welcome.

Buyer pays for insurance and transportation. Your bid should be in reasonble relation to the new price (see page)

Hello Henk

That is a great concertina for someone ready to move up and really have a good instrument. I had one just like it.

Your samples sound very nice too.

I love that leather case. Where would one find one of those?

Thanks.

Richard

Thanks for your kind words Richard.

The leather case was custom made and cannot be bought in a shop.

And now I have it! It's almost the same, the accidental layout is Wheatstone, and it has seven bellows folds. I agree, it's a very nice box, looks gorgeous, and sounds better than the other accordion-reeded boxes I've played (although the difference is subtle, and others might have different preferences). I posted a review of the Tedrow tour concertina a while back, and compared it to my Geuns-Wakker. Here are a few short samples, comparing the Geuns-Wakker with first the Tedrow, then a vintage Lachenal:

Have you sold it yet, Henk?

Thanks for your post Boney!

In fact I was just searching the Forum to look for your comments on the Geuns-Wakker.

Nice material! It's my experience that the differences between the sound are much greater when you are in playing postion (ears above the concertina).

The concertina is not sold yet, but there is interest from potential buyers.
