Don, it works great!  Thanks for the tip.  But it is actually a video recorder, so

it records both sight and sound.  My iPhone6 does have iOS 11 something.

Oh, that’s a great life hack!

 

I totally forgot about the iOS 11screen recorder!

 

It should be pretty easy to extract the audio from the recordings.

Turns out that’s not quite true.

 

In the iPhone rendition of the Hayden app (iPhone 6+, iOS 11.4), all the sounds come out an octave higher than they should. I have checked my transposition setting and it’s at zero. Setting it to -12 makes the pitches work the way they should at zero (although a difference in timbre is noticeable due to the calculated transposition).

The iPad version plays correctly.

I could certainly change the native iPhone sample set to a lower range.

 

I’ll check if my sample set naming got shifted an octave up and if it did, replace them ASAP with a new update tomorrow if required! Sorry if I messed it up!

That must be what happened. It was always correct in previous versions. The low note on the right hand (bottom left button) should be middle C.

The update to fix the octave issue on the iPhone version was approved by Apple and should now be available. Might take a few hours to propagate to all the App Store servers.
