DDF Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I just thought this may be of interest to someone thinking of making a leather case or wanting to do a repair to an old one. They look to be good quality, but if anyone wants more details I have just ordered one and would be happy to give my impression when I receive it.Wishing you all a wonderful 2016.David. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231353595923?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Chris Drinkwater Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 There must be a catch in it, somewhere! Chris
JimLucas Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 It looks very sturdy, although I've never understand the reason for a lock. It certainly wouldn't prevent someone from stealing the instrument, though if they stole the instrument from out of a closed but unlocked case, it might take you a bit longer to realize they had done so. But many cases are built with a handle on the top, which is also the cover that opens. So if the latch accidentally opens while you're carrying it, the weight of the instrument pulls the case open downward, potentially spilling the instrument out onto... grass, dirt, gravel, concrete.... Locking the latch presumably prevents such an accident.
