richard Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Hello I would like to have a standard style concertina case made for my smaller Carroll concertina. I am seeking a case that offers reasonable cushioning but being no bigger than it needs to be. The instrument should be a snug fit. If anyone can make one or knows someone who can please contact me. Thanks, Richard
Sean Minnie Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Speak to Greg Jowaisas (who incidentally works with Wally Carroll), he made a very nice custom case for me.
Jim Burke Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Greg Jowaisas made an excellent custom case for my Carroll.
Greg Jowaisas Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the recommendations but I attempted two tries at Richard's case but was unsuccessful. I am concentrating on repairs and not inviting case orders right now. Someone else needs to step up and help Richard out. Greg Edited May 23, 2015 by Greg Jowaisas
Mike Franch Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 (edited) I don't know what you're using now, Richard, but you might consider a good quality camera bag. You could use foam blocks for compression if needed. A camera bag won't offer as good a protection against puncture, I suppose (although some of the nylon is pretty strong) but the padding offers good drop and bump protection. Not as good against crushing as a well-made case, either, but I think the main hazard is shock and jarring, and camera bags are designed to protect against that. Edited May 23, 2015 by Mike Franch
