Bellows Paper Design

Recommended Posts

One concertina with cigar bands on the bellows is Ken Sweeney's Wheatstone English. They are dark but with some semi-irridescent sort of colors.

I have at least two concertinas whose bellows are plain and somewhat boring, so I'm always looking for a way to decorate them. I've found the solution for one, and will post a picture here if I ever get it done.

I've decided to go down the design-my-own route so I'm waiting to see what my mate Martin comes up with. This is quite exciting :)

For information, here are the detailed specs for the papers given to me by Andrew Norman for the 30 button Norman "Standard" Anglo that I've ordered.....

It is a trapezoid shape - 4 sides, the long outer edge is 66mm, the inside edge is parallel to the outside edge and is 40mm, the depth of the papers (distance between the inside and outside edges) works out to be 19mm. The measurements don't have to be exactly as given, but don't go under those sizes and don't go over by more than a millimetre. That is the final cut size including any borders.

You should supply them cut to this size (84 for six fold bellows plus a few spares) printed using waterproof ink on 100g paper not thin copier paper.
