davethos
Hi - I'm a long term (35 years) English player, and have a superb Aeola made circa 1905 (serial no. 23592). I used to have a note (photocopy of a ledger) of the first sale of my box, but have lost it, and can't for the life of me remember how I got it originally. Any ideas? It falls in the gap of years in the Horniman collection between the "Neil Wayne" records and the "Steve Dickinson" records. Cheers, Dave Thomas, near Inverness
Stephen Chambers
Dave, As far as anybody knows, that ledger no longer exists, in fact the pre-1910 ledgers that remain now only survived because Harry Minting rescued them from the bonfire at Boosey & Hawkes, about 1961. If you have a photocopy from it, I'd be very interested to see it - if you can find it... Edited August 7, 2009 by Stephen Chambers
Hereward
I have a Wheatstone from the same period (circa 1900) and was obviously put out to discover the missing ledger too. Ian Edited August 7, 2009 by Hereward
