Anybody Else In Denver?

Recommended Posts

I am looking at jumping in and purchasing a Concertina. I have been reading and watching videos online, cool training on the English on YouTube, after watching the first 3 lessons I know I could do it. I have even tried to find a Concertina in Denver. I just love a scavenger hunt.

So far I have found only found 1 shop.... They had a Hohner D-40 and what looked like a Stagi A-48, I believe is was a tenor. All the shop keeper could testify to is that the Hohner was an Anglo and the Stagi was an English, and that one came with a bag, and the other a box..... he also yelled my kid for touching something. hmmmm

The Hohner is not for me, If I go Anglo I want a 30 button and I am a tired of Chinese manufacturing practices in general. So much for he new world economy, same old junk from new places. Ebay is flooded with it... Sorry, I will stop now :D

I am also on the fence with going Anglo/English. It would be helpful to see some other boxes and actually speak with their owners while I raise the capital to make the investment.

I play guitar, and am currently restoring a flute and clarinet, own a few saxophones, a piano.... I like the idea of doing accompaniment, so that points to English, however being able to tear off a jig leads me to the Anglo....hmmmm

The term: Squeeze, now has a whole new meaning!

Patrick, I live in Boulder and play both Anglo and English. Most weeks I play at the Sunday night Irish session in Boulder. Send me an e-mail via this site and we'll get in touch.
