chainyanker Posted April 30, 2007 Share Posted April 30, 2007 i have a a pair of reeds, {d on push, e on pull} thats slow to start and even bogs down when pushing or pulling hard. do i need to twick or bend a little away from the shoe. this is a aaccordian reed concertina. thamks in advance. Frank Edgley Posted April 30, 2007 Share Posted April 30, 2007 Accordion reed or concertina reed, the pricipal is the same. It does sound like the reed tongue elevation may be too low. Be cautious. Stephen Chambers Posted April 30, 2007 Share Posted April 30, 2007 It can sometimes be hard to work out what the problem is even when the instrument is in your hand, never mind by remote control. But as you say the problem is with a pair of reeds, I can't help but wonder if the fault might be with the reedplate. If the plate isn't held solidly in place, it can vibrate itself, making the reeds sound weak and slow to speak ... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
