Marien
"VINTAGE CONCERTINA. ROSEWOOD. "THE VICEROY" STEEL REEDS So...what is it? " Viceroy made concertina's and melodeons for export in Saxony (Germany) around 1920. My first 30 button concertina was a Viceroy. They have wooden levers, the reeds are mounted on zinc plates like in a bandonion and they mostly left the factory badly in need of tuning. If you see one, there is a big chance that it is not in C/G (mine is E/B). There is no connection to Lachenal, it is a cheap imitation. The action is not that good. It does not have the quality and the sound of a Lachenal. Then again, to me it was a nice cheap concertina to start with for a couple of years (after having it tuned).
