JimLucas
Does anyone recognise this? I would say that the included text, "Here is a quote from the above thread: ..." looks suspicious when there is no "above thread". Someone else's text copied, with parts deleted? And the bit about the flute sounds familiar. I don't think this is the first scam-copy we've reported for this one. Hey Ken, how about a new subForum: "Scam of the Week"? Just kidding! Paul Read
Does anyone recognise this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jeffries-C-G-Anglo-C...1QQcmdZViewItem No feedback history, Buyer ID private.... Not only has this been on before, it has also been on as a scam before! It's interesting that he will ship only to the UK this time. Is he hiding from past US victims I wonder. Paul Read
Does anyone recognise this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jeffries-C-G-Anglo-C...1QQcmdZViewItem No feedback history, Buyer ID private.... Yep, It is a scam. The actual instrument is up for sale again by the original buyer (in Japan, wakasaboama). That sale is, I believe, genuine unless they've stolen his identity. I think the scammer tried it a few days ago and here he is, back again.
JimLucas
Two separate auctions have been presented in this thread, though they appear to be the same instrument. To lay it out, I hope a little more clearly: Does anyone recognise this?[this one] No feedback history, Buyer ID private.... is the scam. The concertina is on again here[this one] Apparently being sold by wakasaobama appears to be genuine. Since wakasaobama is a member here -- in fact, he has already posted in this thread about the scam, -- I expect he'll tell us quite soon whether the second one is really his. wakasaobama
Dear C.net members I’m not stolen my ebay account. I destroyed the scammer’s auction. (The scammer early-ended the auction only 2 days.) But, the scammer’s ebay account is still alive. So, I reported ebay today. wakasaobama Edited February 14, 2006 by wakasaobama
christianmayne
No sooner does Wakasaobama's genuine auction end (reserve not met), the concertina is back up for sale, this time from China! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jeffries-C-G-Anglo-C...1QQcmdZViewItem Obviously another scam. Baxter
Here we go again. Now this concertina has teleported to the UK! I am really astonished at how persistent these people are, and how frequently this happens. Edit: I have reported it to ebay.
