Striso duet coming soon

Recommended Posts

Piers is back and there will be a production version of Didie's Striso duet available soon!

See: https://www.striso.org/the-striso-duet/

and: https://www.striso.org/shop/striso-duet/

Here is a playlist of Didie playing his Striso duet: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiG41qUja1Fus_dY7mDmTKqQgvMbAxOr3&si=w9geSNjHtiWBI_o_

(I have no affiliation with Piers the maker of the Striso).

It seems like a potentially interesting concept.

Most of what I saw was the "WOW, look I can make wierd noises on a funny looking box"

I would suggest a video that showcases the potential of the instrument as a instrumental platform. A simple patch, tines/ bells. With an example of good 2 handed playing.

Did you not look at any of Didie's videos?

I watched the all videos posted in the link at the striso site.  That is what my frame of reference was.

I did not look at the you tube until you pointed it out. Much better. And imo gives a much better insight into possibilities.

I probably had taken a striso for concertina- or bandoneon-like use, but it does not mirror their "knob-picture" and i am afraid, i have to buy me new electronic equipment for getting good sound an all possibilities the striso offers. I have to much from the 90th. Today it is not worth the money i spent for it 30 years ago. - I do not buy a striso the next time. I am tyred of high-technics.
