Jillity
I want to learn to play a concertina but I'm not sure what sort to buy. The anglo concertinas seem to be the most common. I have been given one of those East German ones but it's not particularly good qulaity. Some of the notes don't play and some are out of tune. It plays over a flat reed plate like a harmonica. I can't afford to spend hundreds of pounds. Can you recommend somewhere where I could buy a 20 button C and G anglo to learn on please? The prices seem to vary from £40 to thousands of pounds. Jillity
Thank you. I've asked if I can have it but I live in Cornwall so shipping may be a problem.
Mike Jones
Jillity, why not join the West Country Concertina Players? https://thewccp.org/. They can help with tuition and learning and also with sourcing a suitable instrument , even with hiring one so you have the opportunity to try different types Mike
