jdms
Today's XKCD webcomic, one of its occasional intricately detailed (despite initial appearances) special strips, will interest certain members of this community. Go here to today's strip and, per the directions, right-click on the image. There's lots to explore in the resulting menu, but for the purposes of this post, select Games. Those at whom this post is directed will see what I'm on about.
Mjolnir
Was a bit confused at first, but then realized Randall had set it up to use Troughton's Second Variation (with rule 7A suspended, as per usual), and had a blast. I'm actually kind of curious how he got it to handle the diagonals correctly - I thought that was still an open computational problem for Troughton's. Chris Timson
[sigh] That's AI for you. Such a small selection of options when a simple call of Turnham Green would have blown the whole progression out of the water. I agree the diagonals were handled correctly but for such a small set of alternates Stovold would be spinning in his grave.[/sigh] Chris
