Ken_Coles
I wonder if this holiday was created for/by Morris dancers? They certainly love leaping! And fun to see that the birthdays listed on the board front page today are all even multiples of four. Happy leaping to you. Ken
David Barnert
I play the cello in the Delmar Community Orchestra (I know, the web site's out of date). We played a concert this evening that included the Overture to Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Mikado." During rehearsals a few weeks ago, when the conductor mentioned that we would be performing on February 29, I said "then we're playing the wrong Gilbert & Sullivan!" He got the joke. "The Pirates of Penzance" is about a guy born on February 29 who is apprenticed to pirates, not until he is 21, but (according to the contract) "until his 21st birthday," which of course won't be until 1940. Will his beloved Mabel wait for him? "It seems so long...," she sings.
