Henk van Aalten
At the awards ceremony in the Queens hotel in Ennis Co.Clare concertinaplayer Edel Fox received the honour of becoming TG4 young traditional musician of the year. Guest Peter Laban
TG4 is the national Irish language tv station. Originally Telefis na Gaeltachta. Edel is a nice concertinaplayer, that photo was taken when she was 15 by the way. She started my own son off on the concertina, living just up the road really. She is studying at the World Music Centre at UCL at the moment.

Ken_Coles
In the circles I used to run in, UCL could be University College London. But that was geologists, not concertina players.

Ken, In this case, just substitute "Limerick" for London ! But that was geologists, not concertina players. You should have gone to The Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna, in the days when my friend Mickaleen Conlon was still alive. You would have found him playing his concertina, and C#/D box, in a pub that is popular with geologists and potholers, who visit the area because of the rocky landscape of The Burren. In Limerick you'll find "UCL"; In London's another, they tell: ... "University College", ... A place to gain knowledge; I'll bet there are others, as well. .............
