Greg Jowaisas
LACHENAL CONCERTINA 42 KEY 1920'S SERIAL NO - 163850 2 days to go! Cheers Dick I have no reason to suspect anything overtly untoward but make sure you read the questions section on this auction. There is a question of different serial #s. Stephen Chambers
It seems to have been a special order for someone, with bone buttons and flat ends, but New Model labels and hand rails. It's not impossible for the reedpans to have been made later, in a different key or at a different pitch - I was once shown an Edeophone that had an original set of high-pitch reeds made by Lachenal's top reed maker, Mr. Green, and a spare pair of pans made for it later with low-pitch reeds and a different serial number. Chris Drinkwater
LACHENAL CONCERTINA 42 KEY 1920'S SERIAL NO - 163850 The serial number seems rather high for a Lachenal - 163850. Perhaps someone or Stephen C can explain in my ignorance. Were duets/anglos numbered differently to Englishes? Chris
