Randy Stein
Producer Jack Douglas and Yoko Ono have re-released a stripped down remixed version of the album Double Fanatsy. I received a call one morning in mid September, 1980 for a recording session by a contractor from the local musicians union. Needless to say I about wet my pants when I walked into a 3 hour session with John Lennon and Jack Douglas. I did an overdub track to the song "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)". It was a very concentrated focused time of work and great fun and I must say I did not let the moment overwhelm the session and work at hand. Afterwards I got to meet Yoko and a few others in the recording studio. John asked me to explain the instrument to him , how it worked etc. He was delighted that it was called an English Concertina. The remix, which I am unable to attach to the site, allows the concertina to be heard a lot more than on the original LP. Peace rss
jdms
That's the song that ends "Darling, darling, darling, darling Sean?" I'll have to keep an ear out for the remix.
