  1. This is beautiful! Not sure a good price. I'll wait for the experts 😁
  2. I'm m looking to purchase my next Concertina! I'm looking for a Duet Maccann layout. I see mostly Lachenals and Wheatstones. I see that there seems to be more Lachenals than Wheatstones. And the Wheatstones tend to be a bit higher priced. Is it safe to say that Wheatstone makes a better duet than Lachenal? Or is it just due to rarity. I know Lachenal stemmed from Wheatstone. I know some Lachenal used brass reeds and that could be some of the issue, but I know they also have steel reeds on some of the models and the price still seems lower
  3. A good knowledge friend of mine found it. It's a Lachenal English Concertina I really appreciate it! Thanks Larry Gerwick!
  4. I really wish I could get better photos and serial numbers. Unfortunately it's from a video and they do a terrible showcase for only a few seconds 😔
  5. Here's the other side. I've never seen any layout quite like this before. looks modified or repaired. Sorry if this is an impossible question.
  6. I have been looking all over for what brand of concertina this is! the only thing I know for sure is it's not an Anglo. It has such a beautiful sound and I'm really wanting to buy one just like it. Sorry for grainy texture I had to zoom in quite a bit. The bellows have a very distinct Dark Forest Green / Olive coloring. Looks to have possibly 48 Buttons. It's from a video so I unfortunately can't add serial or better pictures. Kind of a Hail Mary on this one! Lol *This one has been solved by Larry Gerwick* Lachenal Rosewood 48 English Concertina
  7. Wow!! Thanks so much for the quick reply! I really appreciate it! ... my God that's a beautiful concertina!
  8. Hello! Im in the same boat! I have a McNeela New Swan 2 and was thinking of upgrading very soon! Could I have a link to the ICC clare you mentioned? I gave it a goog but couldn't find it. It's so hard to find new Concertina makers 😔
  9. Id say absolutely! Bump so see if someone with the skill could transcribe
  10. Huge fan AngloKazooie!! I really appreciate you uploading your songs and sheet music! You got an awesome sounding concertina dude 😄
  11. These replies are excellent and filled with a ton of great info! I'm really glad I posted here. I never thought tof it like that. I figured id try to g t good at both, but you make a very valid point I never thought of. Learning two different ones would hold you back. I guess my main thing I'm wanting is more of a variety for chords, I enjoy my Anglo but sometimes I do wish I could have certain notes on push and pull to make a wonderful chord.
  12. Hello! I'm interested in buying another Concertina! I got my first model my McNeela New Swan 2 and play it everyday. Id really like to get either a duet or English but I wasn't sure which one would be the best. I think the only difference is the button layout right? I'm pretty fresh and new to Concertinas, but I'm absolutely loving them so I definitely don't mind taking the time to learn them.
  13. Awesome! Thanks for the resource!! Just sent my new swan 2 to McNeela today for a free warranty repair of a broken Reed plate that fell off and the shipping to the place was $86!!! Shipping alone internationally. Next time I'll write Alex West
  14. Gotcha! I appreciate your reply! I contacted the manufacturer and they said they would fix it for free, I just have to pay shipping 😄 Thanks again
  15. Hello! I just got a McNeela New Swan 2 a few months ago. Everything was working fine. I put it in the case. When I pulled it out I hear a piece of it is stuck inside of the belows and half my instrument doesn't produce sound! I think it's probably a simple fix. But not sure if I should tackle the repair or try and send it back. This is as far as I got. I'm guessing it's some sort of plague that holds the Reed's in. Easy fix? Or nightmare I should send back?
