geoffwright
Some interesting Irish photos on this site, including one of Gerdy Commane with an interesting looking box (28 key?) http://www.tonykearns.net/pages/set3-8.htm
Greg Jowaisas
Geoff, I'm counting 30b on Gerdy's. I believe a Jeffries 28b box would leave the accidental rows short a button as per these photos. geoffwright
I agree - I was at work when I counted them so my eyes must have been going funny.
Geoffrey Crabb
Actually, I think it is one button short on the inner row of the side showing ???? Geoff
wes williams
Gerdy's concertina was always just clinging on to life in the 1990s. I often wondered if some of his unusual ornamentation was caused by leaky pads, or levers and pads which got caught up with each other in the action, when he played. And if I'm not mistaken - isn't that Peter Laban in Set 4, bottom row centre? The Miltown snapper snapped?
