Bassconcertina.net
Hello, I found this concertina at a local antique store, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about it, I have not purchased it yet. Here's what I already know, it has 8 sides, 20 buttons, two sets of reeds tuned to MM, C#/G#.
Stephen Chambers
That's a very interesting old (presumably) German concertina of a type that I've only previously seen in an 1872 photograph of the shopfront of McGinley's Paramatta Tobacco Depot, Gulgong, New South Wales, where it's second from the left on the shelf in the window. It's great to actually see one in the flesh! If you decide you don't want it, I'd very much like to buy it for my museum/research collection of early, antique, free reed instruments...

Thats awesome, knowing this I think i'll pick it up for my museum and or collection. If I get it and theirs no spot or I decide against keeping it, i'll look into how I can get it to you.
Stephen Chambers
I'd forgotten about this other strange one, with similarities, that I saw in the museum in Klingenthal years ago.
