Lachenal Edeophone 61 key Maccann duet concertina s/n 3741

This concertina requires some restoration work but it will make a very fine and valuable instrument when this is done.

The issues are as follows:

There are 3 keys that require work, one on the right hand side and two on the left.

The 7 fold bellows has two pin hole leaks but otherwise look to be in good condition.

The straps are new but one has the threaded fixing screw missing.

There is no box with this concertina.

Please see the accompanying pictures for more details. Should you have any questions then I will do my best to answer them.

Worldwide shipping is available at cost subject to local customs restrictions / charges.

Price = £900 ovno

Hi. I have a few questions:

1)Do you have keyboard layout?

2)Pertaining to the 3 notes you are referring to that needs work, what exactly is wrong with them?

3)What is the size of the instrument?

4)Are the reeds steel or brass?
5)Any idea when it was manufactured?

1 - Please see keyboard layout below.

2 - On the right hand side key 15 is middle C, key 24 plays in one direction only. On the left hand side key 6 "grumbles" and key 22 physically sticks down.

3 - Approx 20cm x 20cm

4 - I don't know the answer to this one.

5 - Dating a Lachenal seems to be pretty hit and miss as stated here: https://www.concertina.info/tina.faq/conc-ap1.htm

Using the "rough" formula found on that web page I get circa 1906.
