HansiRowe
I don't know if this has been posted before but it gave me a good laugh...
malcolm clapp
Reminds me of the old music hall gag: "I got a new concertina for my wife; a pretty good swap I reckon..." Boom! Tsch!

Roger Hare
I came across this concertina-related quote the other day: "Anybody who has...heard certain kinds of performance on the concertina, will admit that even suicide has its brighter aspects.", Stephen Leacock, 1912. It's a bit barbed, and of course, has no basis in fact. I reackon Leacock must have been feeling a bit liverish that day. Roger Hare
HansiRowe
"Anybody who has...heard certain kinds of performance on the concertina, will admit that even suicide has its brighter aspects.", Stephen Leacock, 1912. Ha ha… that's a good one Roger! It does make one wonder what sort of performances these critics listened to back then… seeing as the concertina was so amazingly popular for so many people. Maybe lovers of classical music with the belief that one needs to have studied seriously for years, etc.? It reminds me of the critics of Punk, who made similar claims, like… "all you need is 3 chords and ear-plugs these days and you can call yourself a band!"….
