david robertson
I recently sold a tenor/treble Aeola to all-round good egg and superb concertina player Martyn Bradley, who features on the English International recordings of a few years back. As a trade-in, I took this baritone, which is one of the instruments played by Martyn on his 1970 album, "Time can't stand still." It has now been comprehensively restored, with new pads, valves, bushings, dampers and straps. The woodwork has been stripped and French polished, the bellows have been re-bound, and the instrument has been tuned to modern concert pitch. The reeds are brass (save for one steel replacement), but don't let that deter you. The instrument is both loud and very fast for a baritone - even the very lowest reeds respond instantly. In short, this is as nice an example as I have ever seen, and I don't think you will regret paying £1950 for it. You're welcome to come and try it if you're within reach of Norwich, or if there's anything else I can tell you, please ask.
