  1. This forum topic seems to address chords for the Anglo - what about the English? I have made a New Year's resolution to add some value to my single button renditions - but am having difficulty in getting started. I take it that its possibly easier with an English; but advice gladly received! PS. Don't fancy the circular breathing! heh heh
  2. I didn't know they were back together again!? A new CD - a must have. Now must dash to their site for a purchase and where & when they might be sessioning...
  3. Thanks Fergus... for the advice on Slow Downer! When the going gets fast, and your learning by ear, it can get pretty daunting to move in with your own notes on the tune. Its taken me quite some time to edge away from the written to the hearing - wish I had done it earlier
  4. I came to the concertina, later in life than I wish I had! One thing that got me when I started to play, was the weight and strain on the little fingers and thumbs (English)- so maybe consider a neckstrap too. And don't forget to get something, box or padded bag, to protect and safely carry your gift! Concertina's are a great investment, so money spent on this gift is not lost - and could be transferred to a better or different instrument should the young lady desire it.
