  1. Thank you for your very helpful reply. When you have to play an F or A note, when the bellows are being pulled out, you are not playing any notes with your left hand, only pressing on the air button on the right side, and then notes on the right side? What is a duet concertina? If you are for instance playing an F on the right hand, what notes could I play on the left hand to give the song more body (if any)? Thank you again, Levi
  2. Hello. I have a 20 button concertina that is in the key of C/G. On the C chord, I press 3,4,5 buttons pressing the bellows in. When I change the fingerings on the C chord (buttons 1,9,10), and open the bellows, it doesn't sound right because it raises the octave. How do you play a complete measure in a song staying in the C chord or any chord, so that it sounds correct? I have 3 books, and none of them go into detail on chord playing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Levi & sara
  3. Hello, And thank you for that link to that website. I greatly appreciate that! I am not good with these websites, do you know where I might find Alan Day's Concertina tutorial on that website? I clicked on where it said tutorial, but this other thing came up by another author. Thank you, Levi
  4. Hello. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find Alan Day's Concertina Tutorial? I typed it into google, a page came up that had a link to his website, and when you click on the link, the page comes up blank, and states that it cannot be found. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you, Levi

  11. Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase the book "La Concertina : Method for Diatonic Concertina". I looked on Button box site, they had it, but they are out of stock right now, and don't know when they will be getting them in. I also check concertina.com, and the book is listed, but there are no prices, and I don't know if it is in stock, and if it is, how to go about purchasing it. I haven't been able to find it on any other sites, but if anyone knows of any concertina sites that sell books, I'll give it a shot! Thank you, Levi & Sara
  12. I am replying to this since the photos didn't come up, so I am going to try this again~!
  13. Hello again, I took apart my concertina, and put some talcom powder on the valves, then pressed down firm on the instrument, to see if the leak was coming from the valves. There was some air that came out, see attached photos of before and after, and as you can see, there are air holes around the valves. Is it normal for any air to seep out? Also, there is air coming from the bellow gasket. What should the gasket be replaced with? Where can it be purchased from? Thank you, Levi & Sara
  14. Thank you so very much for your answers to my questions. That was very good information. The Button Box sells new valve pads, they are cardboard, felt, and then leather bottoms. If I would locate the one that is leaking, and if the repositioning doesn't work, should I replace it with a new one, as a last resort? As far as replacing it, I don't know if they are waxed or glued on, how do you tell which it is? Have you ever replaced them with new valve pads that are waxed or glued on? Thank you very much again, Levi & Sara
  15. Daniel, Hello, and thank you for writing back and for sending the photo. Take care, Levi & SAra
