  1. I'm sad and angry. I'm sad, because my good friend Mario died far to soon. We started the German Concertina Meeting some 18 years together and he kept the German scene going all those years. He brought teachers over including Noel Hill and Tim Collins. 15 years ago I sold my beloved Wheatstone Linota for very little money to him, because he was urgently looking for a good Anglo -under the condition that he wouldn't sell it to anybody else.... His brother, who now is selling Marios instruments, knew the history and promised to offer the box to me before selling it to someone else... Fair play to him! I had the box for 15 years before I sold it - I played it for the Lothian Morris-man, in Milltown and on stage at the Cologne opera-house... now it`s gone for good! And now you know, why I'm angry!
  2. Well, I'm still searching. Is has to be an Aeola... An Edeophone wann't do. Any advances?
  3. Hi, where ( which number ) have you listed the Tanzbär ( should have an German "Umlaut", as it was made in Germany ). They are kind of a novelty and come in various shapes and sizes. Two of them sold recently on ebay. I collect both concertinas and machanical musical instruments - so I might be interested....
  4. Hi, there! I'm planning to build a midi-concertina with bellow-control. First question: What is the max - pressure inside a concertina when played loudly - preferrably in mbar ;-) Second question: has anybody experience with cheap pressure-sensors ( the ones I have seen cost 50 Euro... ) Third question: has anybody done midi-projects and is prepared to chat about it
  5. Hi, here`s my heartbreaking story: 30 years ago when I was studying in Edinburgh, I found 4 concertinas for sale at the exchange & mart paper: 1 Edeophone, 1 clarinet, 1 oboe and 1 Aeola-piccolo. The lady only wanted to sell the lot and asked 1000 Sterling for them - too much money for a student in those days. So Steve Chambers bought the lot in the end. I used to play and admire the piccolo at Steve's old house in London, but he refused to sell it.... One dark day Steve needed money and sold "my" piccolo to a player / collector called Mr. Green?!?!? So far I haven't been able to trace down Mr. Green nor find another eboney-ended Aeola-Piccolo. Ten years ago I gave up hope and ordered an Aeola-piccolo just like "mine" with Steve Dickenson.... Well, that was 10 years ago and according to his latest report he still is busy making it. I'm growing older and finally decided that I do not want to finish my days piccolo-less. Now that I joined the net, I'm sending my cry for help out into the community!!!! Who knows Mr Green or owns or knows of an eboney-ended Aeola-piccolo for sale or trade-in?!?
