  1. yeah I know they are trashy but they will be sacrificed for fancy pirate gondola music (I live close to Venice). Thanks that's the confirmation I needed
  2. Hi all, while learning my Elise Duet I managed to get for 50€ an used cheap anglo 30-keys (the one from Gear4music) 'cause I wanted to try the system and to have something to play while sailing on the river with friends. I noticed after some time that one of the right-hand reeds broke (C5), first button in middle line push, and I was wondering how to replace it. I'm buying the book "The Concertina Maintenance Manual" to challenge myself with some repairs and cleaning. Can anyone here help me recognize this types of reeds and/or have any suggestions for the task? if these are accordion reeds I was thinking of asking https://www.vociarmoniche.it/en for a single reed in tune - Idk if they provide this service but it's worth asking maybe. any help is welcomed, thank you all in advance
  3. No need to apologize Albus, if a product has issues it's good to know them. I like the Hayden system too and was happy to have more options, but the 1150€ for an instrument is not a cheap start considering that in Italy that's the average range for a month salary in a white collar job, and some people in the service industry makes even less. I don't want to bother you with details, I'm sure you can imagine them. Thanks for the tip! there was a mate building his own crane duet and that was amazing. Cheers Albus, good luck on your concertina journey. I'll maybe try to find an used Hayden 46 and see how it goes
  4. thank you so much for your review Albus. It hurts to hear that people producing concertinas so close to me didn't do a good job. It would have been so easy to me to acquire one, but considering your evaluations I am going to think thrice before buying anything from Concertine Italia. I'm not rich so I can't afford anything expensive like a CC Peacock or a rare Beaumont...I think I am going to burn that bridge once I cross it. In the meantime, if you are looking for other Haydens I saw elsewhere that Edward Jay 3d printed some concertinas if you are interested: http://edwardjay.net/paragraphsView.aspx?siteid=61&headerid=107&siteHeader=Hayden They are still outside my price range so I don't think I am ever going to be able to afford one. But it's great to hear there are other options. Thanks again
  5. can I ask you a review on the Stagi Hayden 46? was it one of the new models of Concertine Italia or an old model? I wanted to upgrade from an Elise to the Stagi 46 but I would like to know your experience, thank you.
  6. would you mind share the scores? I would love to learn them too thank you
  7. I can understand your troubles as a fellow newbie who, instead, started with an Elise Hayden. I love the instrument and the system I'm just frustrated by the range but I think when you begin playing an instrument its important to get the gist of it before committing to a higher tier instrument. Be patient and take your time. In Italy we have Concertine Italia who make some interesting 40keys anglo or the Stagi Hayden Duet with 46 keys. In case you aim for an European maker. cheers
  8. As a newbie Hayden Duet player I would love to see your arrangement, the melody is wonderful.
